disappearance is related to his mother's homicide. jummy olabanji joins us in germantown with new details. good morning. >> good morning. police and detectives from montgomery county are still on the scene in this apartment complex behind us searching for clues into this homicide and also the missing persons case. yesterday police found 51-year- old jane mcquain dead inside a bedroom in her apartment. they also noticed that her 11- year-old son william was missing. police got a call from one of jane's friends that they had not seen her in quite sometime. that is when they came in to find her dead and made the discovery about her missing son. >> her 11-year-old son william has not been seen for about two weeks since about september 30. we are hoping to confirm those details today when more people are awake and we are able to contact sources. maybe he has been seen since then, but right now we're working from the september 30 date. >> william described as light skinned black male, by racial 5 feet tall, weighs about 85 pounds. he is believed to be missing along with his mother's car. a black hond

this morning. they tell us that a suspect is in custody and that a weapon has been recovered. this all started when the first practical around 12:20 this morning. it all started at the silver spring metro station. a bus driver was getting ready to leave the station to get over to the beach and metro station when the driver noticed that a passenger on the bus was acting inappropriately. the driver went to the back of the bus and spoke to the passenger before beginning his route to the wheaton station. the bus driver also had a female acquaintance with tim who also went -- acquaintance with him who also went to check on the passenger. they got into an altercation with the bus driver. the suspect struck the female acquaintance and the bus driver intervened. the suspect then fled. , a 28-year-old male, was stabbed in the abdomen, the bus driver a 28 year-old male. the suspect is a 52-year-old man, now in custody. they have recovered a weapon. no names have been released. charges are pending. reporting live from montgomery county in wheaton, brianne carter, abc 7 the spin. >>> in prince george coun

of the young boy. authorities are not telling us at this point as to what led them there to that area. sources say that perhaps they may have been backtracking on the suspect in this case william's step father curtis lopez and his whereabouts. we do know at this point that william's mother jane mcquain was found stabbed to death inside their germantown home on october 12. at this point lopez's already facing charges in that case. he is expected in the coming days to be brought from north carolina back here to maryland to face charges. authorities tell us that he is also the prime suspect in the case of william's? -- william's death as well. family and friends are trying to figure out why. police and not released because a motive for the boy's death. >>> we want to turn to the 2012 campaign. seven republican presidential candidates met in las vegas for their active debate in six weeks. but candidates spent much of the debate attacking businessman herman cain's economic plan. it calls for 9% sales income, and corporate tax. several heated exchanges including one between mitt romney and rick perr
